Screening achieves multiple goals:
- Identify the target audience for your Live Chat. Screen for characteristics not asked yet in the community or simply select members based on profile data or data from past activities.
- Determine qualified members' willingness to participate in this activity type.
- Identify best time to conduct session.
Screener Design:
Design a screener with the following content:
- Any screening or qualifying criteria, if any. If possible, target community member invites via “tags” or filters based on previous activities to help narrow down the number of invites.
- Invitation language making clear the purpose of the screener within the context of a live chat, timing, and compensation. Specify rewards/incentives for completing the screener and fully participating in the live chat session.
- Ask about interest in participating in a live chat session (“real-time/live instantaneous chat room-style discussion with other members”). Terminate respondents who are not interested.
- Offer 3-5 different time slots for sessions. Ask about preference and availability to attend session times. This can be programmed as a simple multi-select question.
- If multiple moderators and clients/stakeholders want to attend the chat session, you ensure the times offered work for your teams.
- Based on screening responses, the time at which most respondents are available can be selected for the actual session.
