We encourage every so often recognizing members that have continually participated in the community. This is a great way to put a human face to the community and add another level of incentive for member participation.

To determine which members to recognize:

Export a list of users through the Users tab: Once in the Users tab, click ‘configure columns’ and include ‘surveys completed.’ For more detail on working with the User Tab, read here.
Export the data, open the Excel file and sort from largest to smallest on the amount of surveys members have completed. Find the break in number of surveys completed that you feel best represent ‘highly engaged members,’ and use only those for the pool from which you will randomly select.
Once you have compiled the list of usernames of highly engaged members, copy all usernames and paste into column A in a new worksheet. Select a blank cell to the right of the list, copy and paste formula =INDEX($A:$A,RANDBETWEEN(1,COUNTA($A:$A)),1) into the formula bar, and then press the Enter button on your keyboard. You will see a random username populate in the selected cell.
Once a member has been randomly selected, send an email informing him/her and asking if the member would like to be featured on the community homepage.

Subject: Thank You from [COMMUNITY NAME]

Body: Dear [NAME],

Thank you for being a member of [COMMUNITY NAME]! We appreciate your feedback and participation very much.

We’re starting a new series in the community where we will be showcasing a different member every couple of months. We’re selecting highly engaged individuals and rewarding them with a $5 gift card as a token of our appreciation for their time! You will now see this in your balance in your My Rewards account.

I would love to post a small picture of you on the homepage to announce how much we value your continued participation in the community. I would only include your Username [USERNAME] and no other info. If you can share a pic, please send it over to me. It would be on the homepage for a few weeks and then removed. No worries if not, and thank you again for being such a great member!

Feature Member on Homepage

If the member is open to being featured on the homepage, create a tile with his/her picture and the following text (or something similar). We also recommend sending out an email to the community, inviting them to check out the homepage to see who has been featured.

Sub-title: Member Showcase Winner, [USERNAME]

Body: We’d like to recognize [USERNAME] for his/her active and ongoing participation in [COMMUNITY NAME]. Thank you for being an outstanding member! Please enjoy your gift card as a token of our appreciation.

We’ll be randomly selecting highly engaged members from our community to showcase throughout the rest of the year. Continue engaging and sharing your feedback in our activities to increase your chances to be in the next member showcase!
